I'm so excited to hear that my nephew just got into VSAA. It will be so cool to be back again with him for hopefully the next seven years! WooHoo!

Hey guys. I am sooooo sorry for neglecting the updates I should be making to the network. I had some business stuff that took over my life and left it in shambles, so I am slowly getting back to projects I was managing before that. However, the Alumni Network is going to get a boost of purpose soon. I will be adding it to an awareness network I am starting and creating some good online events in which everyone can be involved. Stay tuned over the next month or so for some exciting new features o…

This is a call for music entries from our music performance artists in the Network. We have a music player on site and want to feature your music! I am still toying with this feature, so email me if you want your music available to the entire network. I would need a location to be able to download an MP3 or WMA file that can then be uploaded to our server. Don't worry: it's secure, so no one will be file-sharing it... unless we create a Facebook app that will spread it across the internet like w…

Hello, artists. Good Tuesday!
I know we're not seeing a lot of great features on the site yet. I have a humongous project that is paying me a lot of money, and my non-paying volunteer position as admin for the site is being left in the dust at the moment. But I plan on offering some new features once the dust settles, including a few art contests and other means of stirring the creative brain juice.
If any of you are willing to be admins, or know someone who is willing to volunteer their time,…

I am having trouble getting a bigger quota for the number of photos any one user can have. But most people who like to post their artwork in multiple places have a Flickr account. If you don't, you're missing out. It's easy and it saves you from trying to upload the same photos to multiple social networks or portfolios. Then all you need is a widget or app to display a feed from Flickr.
Has anyone done this with MySpace or Facebook? You have apps there you can use, but the Alumni Network does n…

You will notice a questionaire added to the Network web site that is optional for all alumni both registered and visiting. The Network will be sending out the same questionaire to people already aware of the alumni association setup progress, including a version for VSAA staff and the PTSA. Please get involved with this study, which will run through the end of August to allow the reunion weekend for the 98/99 classes to gather some direct feedback.
Remember that this questionaire is voluntary…

I see students from the 2006-2007 classes have arrived. What about the other grad years? Let's see this network grow!
Please tell your friends! Add a badge to your MySpace or Facebook profile using the link on the right of the opening page. Invite your friends to join via the email system on the site. We're planning big things and we want you to be a part of it!
Also, we need more photos. Add some photos to your profile of you and your VSAA comrads. If you've been to any kind of reunion…

The decision to create a non-profit corporation as a base station for the alumni of the VSAA has been speculated for two years now. The original planning committee, a small band of grads who was sick of waiting for the school to start up something for the alumni, didn't know how this would be done or what to expect in terms of time commitment. We also had no time to really commit, and even overextended ourselves with the PTSA-based program idea. But times change and I get impatient. Setting asid…

A brief history: The association was planned to launch back in 2007, but due to member schedules and some hurdles to jump for the PTSA (our original sponsor), the process died off. This network is a glimpse at the new focus on connectivity, collaboration and purpose. We are lucky, as creative minds, that we can utilize unofficial resources like Facebook and MySpace to keep up with our friends. The new association plan is to focus on supporting our existing social networking and use it to produce…
